Edmund Taylor RAM No 296 Charity Donation

The Scouts in Blackpool have benefited from a donation of £300 from Edmund Taylor RAM Lodge No 296 which has been very generously doubled by the West Lancs Charity Fund.
The money has been used to retrofit LED lamps to the 5th Blackpool Scout Headquarters lighting. The cost of electricity is one of the Scouts major bills and significant savings on running cost will be made over the next few years, making the group more sustainable.

The group currently has about 70 children attending Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers on four nights a week and continually struggles to raise funds to keep the group sustainable in its own Headquarters. The Scout Group Started in 1937 and will be celebrating 80 years on the 5th November it provides a useful facility for young people 6 to 18 years in Blackpool and gives them the opportunity to take part in a wide number of activities.
